ALVIN M. WEINBERG is a Distinguished Fellow with the Institute for Energy Analysis. From 1955 to 1973, he was director of Oak Ridge National Laboratory, where he had worked since 1945. The originator of the pressurized water reactor, Dr. Weinberg has played an active role in the development of nuclear energy. He is a member of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences.
JACK N. BARKENBUS is a political scientist with the Institute for Energy Analysis, where he has dealt primarily with non-technical issues facing nuclear power. Before joining IEA, he taught and conducted research at the School of Advanced International Studies, Johns Hopkins University, where he was the recipient of a Rockefeller Foundation Fellowship.
